Bio

As Senior Clinical Data Analyst, I support the Clinical Team of the Department of Pharmacy of Providence Swedish Medical Center in the Puget Sound area with data analytics. In this capacity I provide data extraction and statistical analysis for medicine utilization evaluations and pharmacy resident research projects.

I also support the Social & Economic Sciences Research Center (SESRC) at Washington State University as a Research Associate in which role I’ve conducted an annual psychometric analysis of data from a statewide survey of parental satisfaction with special education services.

In recent years I’ve been an Adjunct Instructor on the faculty of the Doctor of Educational Leadership program in the School of Education at Gonzaga University, in which role I’ve taught graduate courses in research methods and data analysis for students pursuing their doctorates in education (EdD).

I am trained as a social scientist, psychometrician, and data scientist. I hold two degrees in sociology (B.A., Arizona State; M.S., Virginia Tech) and a doctorate in measurement (Ph.D., Educational Psychology (Measurement, Statistics & Research Design), University of Washington). I also have a certificate in data science.

I live in the greater Seattle area of Washington State with my wife Patricia. In my free time, I enjoy reading, podcasts, movies, television, cooking, wine, and road cycling. Since graduate school I’ve had an abiding research interest in the sociology of religion, and as time allows I conduct my own research projects analyzing data from national surveys.
